10 Minute Quick Cleaning Tasks Anyone Can Accomplish

Time is limited, no matter who you are. Working fulltime, stay at home parents, volunteers, social calendars, activities, dating life, all of it consumes your time incredibly. The mundane cleaning tasks of keeping up a home are far less glamourous or exciting and the longer they are put off, the longer our lists get. We don’t want to be bombarded with our chores, and it can feel easier to see past the clutter and mess versus tackling it all.

It has been proven by multiple sources around the world that living in clutter and mess can also clutter our minds and productivity, cloud our judgement, as well as cause sadness and depression. This world is already hard enough and full of sadness, let’s not allow our homes to also contribute to this.

Here are a number of suggestions of tasks that can be accomplished within 10 minutes or less. Time yourself and allow yourself to be impressed with how fast you can actually get through these as you find a pocket of time to tackle one or more.

  • Create a to-do list
  • Pay a bill
  • Clean out the junk drawer
  • Clear off the counters
  • Wipe down the counters
  • Clean off the mirrors
  • Write out your goals for this year
  • Create a plan for next week
  • Make a list of workouts or exercise classes to stay on track
  • Load or unload the dishwasher

  • Clean out a shelf in the pantry

By keeping things limited to a room, or a single space you may surprise yourself how quickly you can whip through such a task and move on to the next. Many tasks feel like they will take forever, yet don’t. And once they are done, you’re able to move on. Anyone can find 10 minutes here and there. It is finding the discipline to use that time wisely that is our own personal battle. Anyone can accomplish any of these, take a moment and give one of them, or more, a try.
