Cleaning Schedule: Thursdays
Thursdays have a shorter list of tasks, but they do take longer. Thursdays are for the floors.
Floors span the entire size of your home. Personally, I dream of the day I can wear white socks in my home and they stay white with no stains. But in my current season of life, with a baby and a toddler, that is simply not going to happen.
My main focus when it comes to cleaning my floors is a safe surface for my baby to crawl on and my toddler to play on. We have a family cat in our home, so removing her hair as often as possible is a chore in itself, so we do try to vacuum every day. This collects all the crumbs, pet hair, playdoh speckles, dirt from outside and anything and everything else developed by a toddlers busy day.
What makes Thursdays stand out though, is mopping. This can be a full house mop with a mop and bucket. This could be steam mopping or could even be Swiffer mopping, whatever feels the most necessary on that day. It can suck, but it’s once a week and is 100% necessary.
The other task I keep on Thursdays which I don’t do too often in this season, is mending. Patching holes in knees or t-shirt armpits, whatever needs a quick stitching is left, when possible, to Thursdays. It is a nice sit down task after a more full body chore like mopping. It also helps with a family budget so you’re not constantly repurchasing things, whenever possible.
