What is in my Cleaning Caddy
Everyone has their go-to cleaning products. While some people may keep everything in a cupboard so it is all in one place, or under the sinks in the rooms where they are needed and used, I personally like to keep a cleaning caddy to be able to grab and go room to room and have everything I need in one convenient package. This also allows me to keep things pretty simple and not fall into the influenced trap of having every fancy cleaning potion created to do every minor job.
I like to keep things pretty simple. Having products that do multiple uses helps with this. While I do keep very specified products elsewhere, they are not for my every day or even weekly use, so they are not necessary for my caddy.
Here are the top items I keep for grab and go usage.
- Multipurpose Spray. Currently using the brand Method, this is my all around, use it on everything, lives by its title, cleaning spray. Countertops, wiping down baseboards, cleaning the over all surface of a toilet, spray it on a cloth and use it for wiping down light switches, cupboards and door knobs, this stuff is used constantly.
- Vim. This is what I use as our toilet cleaner but is also used to clean our tub, the base of our shower, even clean the kitchen sink. It is another multipurpose cleaner but in a cream form and can be used to clean furniture, stained shoe soles, grout, basically anything that can use a good scrubbing.
- Magic Eraser. When something gets real messy or stained, pull out the big guns. This can be used for thick grim on shower glass or crayon on the walls, because kids will be kids. This product lives up to its name, it is magic!
- Windex. For mirrors, windows, even appliances.
- Vinegar and Water. I keep a spray bottle with this concoction combo to clean large surfaces like the shower or wiping down the tub when they don’t need a thorough deep clean. Keeps things at bay, and is a classic homemade cleaner for everyday use.
- Cleaning Rags. Rather than always using paper towels, I have designated cleaning rags that get washed and reused every week.
- Swiffer Duster. For weekly dusting, these things are so handy!
- Scrub brushes and old tooth brushes. For all the nitty gritty and getting into hard to reach spots.
- Rubber Gloves. For protection and not wanting to touch the nasty stuff.
There you have it, my go-to, easy to grab and go cleaning supplies I always keep in my cleaning caddy. What are some things you can’t live without? Cleaning is already a chore, but shouldn’t feel like one to gather up all that you need. By keeping a caddy, you are saving money on not over purchasing duplicates of items and you can get everything done, room by room. Cleaning should have as much convenience attached to it as possible so it doesn’t have to take forever to do it. This will speed things up and feel less daunting each week with each task. So, let’s grab our caddies and get to it.
Happy Cleaning!
